2021 will see the fifth running of this tough race that takes in the superb private estate of Castle Carr as well as much of Midgley, Warley and Wadsworth Moors

What shall I carry? |
The race is licensed by the FRA under UKA rules. FRA mandatory minimum kit is compulsory.
You must carry:
If you want water during the race, carry a cup or water bottle with you. Two marshals on the route (at CP4 and before CP8) should have water containers. But they won’t have plastic cups. Bring your kit to registration because it will be checked there. |
Route Map | The race route goes across the Castle Carr estate to checkpoint 1, then does a complete anticlockwise circuit around the estate and moors. Once the circuit is done (to checkpoint 8), you will head back across the estate to the finish.The route will be flagged through the private Castle Carr estate, but apart from that will only be flagged at a few key points.

Checkpoints | 1: SE027307 trod 2: SE011303 standing stone 3: SE007276 path junction 4: SE010264 path at bottom of woods 5: SE014278 sheepstones trig 6: SE020267 gate 7: SE022276 crow hill (timeout at 14:00) 8: SE034302 rocking stone NB: there is a timeout at CP7. If you arrive there after 2pm you must check in with the marshal there, retire and make your own way back to the start/finish. |
