Race requirements
The race is licensed by the FRA under UKA rules and is therefore a non-GPS race. You are allowed to use a GPS device to record your route and display your distance travelled during the race. However electronic devices cannot be used to aid navigation except in the case of an emergency. If you choose to use any GPS functions to navigate to safety you must declare yourself as a non-competitive participant at the finish.
FRA mandatory minimum kit is compulsory including waterproof full body cover (with taped seams & integrated attached hood) + hat (not a buff) + gloves + map + compass (not out of a Christmas cracker) + whistle + emergency food.
Kit check prior to race number allocation on the day. Not the correct kit you won't be allowed to race.
Route description
The route will be flagged through the private Castle Carr estate, but apart from that will only be flagged at a few key points.
‘Half’ runners are likely to meet ‘Full’ race runners at Crow Hill and share the same route from there on.
Please do not go through the private Castle Carr estate before race day.
