It was a tremendous day for the club at the Calderdale Way Relay. For the first time ever, our A team won the event.
Then to prove the strength in depth in the club, our next team won the mixed team category – again a first for the club. Our Vets team were 3rd vets team; and the Mixed-B team were 7th out of 11 mixed teams.
Truly a great day in the sunshine for CVFR.
Calder Valley girls defended their relay title for a third year in a row. They had a battle on their hands from local rivals Todmorden Harriers but with Gayle Sugden and Jo Waites breaking the record on the last leg their title was safe. The men were narrowly beaten by just 30 seconds to take the title. They were held to second place by Salford Harriers. Shaun Godsman and Steve Bayton were rewarded with breaking the record on leg 3. Well done everyone for a fantastic club effort … And the cakes were delicious and well earned by you all.
