| The Coiners race has been moved to Bank Holiday Monday to encourage junior participation. The junior races are now an established part of this event with over 70 juniors having a great day. In the senior race Ben Mounsey flew round the route to win easily and lead Calder Valley to the men's team prize. Jo Buckley smashed her own record, though Todmorden pipped Calder to the women's team prize. The new start, together with the junior races, has shortened the race by half a mile, so both winners made records for the new route. Seventy percent of the field were vets and 23% were women. However, women made up almost half of the non-vets, so where are the young men? - Rod Sutcliffe |
