anniversary

4th November 2007 10am
MCC Car Park

2007 is the CVFR 21st Anniversary and we are planning a 21 mile run to celebrate (with a few beers in the Shoulder of Mutton afterwards). We want as many members of the club new and old to come and run, including the juniors, to have an impressive display of red and white in the hills. We realise that many people will not want to run the full 21 miles, so the route crosses a number of roads at different distances and we hope that people will join the route on the way around so that as we descend back to Mytholmroyd the whole club will be there.

**LATEST - there will be soup and sandwiches at the Shoulder of Mutton at about 4pm - many thanks to the Shoulder for providing these FREE**

The route climbs three of the local hills - Crow Hill, Stoodley Pike and High Brown Knoll and picks up parts of many local races:

  • Coiners
  • Erringden Moor
  • Stoodley Pike
  • Club Handicap Events
  • Wicken Hill Whizz
  • Reservoir Bogs
  • 2006 British Relays
  • Trog and Half Trog
  • Calderdale Way

The main timings are:

  • Crow Hill: 40 minutes
  • Dauber Bridge (Cragg Vale): 1hour 30 mins
  • Withens Clough Car Park: 2hours 15 mins
  • Stoodley Pike: 3 hours
  • Mytholmroyd Road Crossing near Silverers: 3 hours 45 mins
  • High Brown Knoll: 5 hours
  • Quarry near HB Golf Course: 5 hours 40 mins
  • Mytholmroyd Finish: 6 hours

The timings are generous to allow everyone to take part and include 15 minute stops at road crossings. If you do not fancy running then support at the road crossings would be appreciated with tea / coffee / cakes etc.

At the finish we hope to have the local press there for photos so would be great if everyone was in their club tops. We will then adjurn to the Shoulder of Mutton to celebrate at about 3pm.

Remember this is in November and could be cold and wet - please bring appropriate clothing and food.

Any questions / problems please email: enquiry@cvfr.co.uk

I will be running the full course and be carrying my mobile phone and can update people with timings on the day - my number will be in an email to club members.

Look forward to seeing you there!!!
